The Church “Triumphant”
Unto the church of Earth do write,
I am God your God, heart of light, (Ps. 50:7)
Who lives in flames and in the cold bright
Stars reside. O thou Adamite
Who in sybaritic pleasures
Lie, content in ebon leisures
To claim a name and not a son (Mt. 7:22-23)
To be. I have not yet begun. (Ps. 50:12)
Do you think I who bathe in gold
Care for misgot pennies or old
And filthy rags? Or do you think (Is. 64:6)
I will neglect to make you drink
At the cup of the wine of wrath? (Rev. 14:10)
I come, and in the aftermath
Of Deic glory you will kneel
On blasted fields and will be feal (Rom. 14:11)
To the Lord whom you did not fear.
Should I whose name you did besmear
With pharisaic platitudes
Accept your alms with gratitude? (Ps. 50:12)
Or, shall I grind you with my teeth, (Job 16:19)
And case you down to crawl beneath
The awful burden of your sin?
I do not desire the foreskin
Of your heart. I demand the whole. (Mt. 22:37-38)
Careless hymns resound in Sheol;
Captious thoughts become your death knell.
The creaking of the gates of hell
Cannot more piercing be than the
Soul dying of duplicity. (Mt. 15:14)
I know of your works and your name, (Rev. 3:1)
Your lifeless deeds which you proclaim
Far and near, hoping against hope
That by means of these your may grope
To God. Blind leader of the blind, (Mt. 15:14)
Call in troubled days and you’ll find
I’ll laugh at your calamity. (Prov. 1:26-28)
But, if you’ll in sincerity,
Surrender to me as your Lord,
Dwelling together in accord
With my wishes, then I will grant
You every favor my puissant
Hand may provide; and to those who
Endure to the end, I will endue
With the power of my name.
